Now is a pivotal time.  As of today, cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States.  One in three of us will get cancer at some point in our lives, and each of us knows someone close to us who has had cancer.   Continued support of cancer research gets us one more step closer to a cure.  

The funds raised at the Luau & Longboard Invitational support the mission of the Moores UCSD Cancer Center to translate promising scientific discoveries into new and better options for those fighting cancer.   We are grateful to all those in the community who have come together in the “Aloha Spirit” to surf for a cure and support the fight against cancer. 

More than just a friendly greeting, aloha also means kindness, unity, humility and patience.  So, we ask you to join us in the aloha spirit to surf for a cure because together we are stronger than one – together we can find a cure – together we can take the giant leap to eradicating cancer.
